At CANVAS—and with our partners at Seventy One Brewing—sustainability isn’t a side project. It’s built into our foundation. From day one, the mission has been clear: create incredible experiences and flavour-forward beer, while leading the way in environmental responsibility.

We’re proud to say that Seventy One Brewing is on track to become one of the most sustainable craft breweries in Scotland—with a Net Zero goal in sight for 2026.

Here’s how we’re making that happen, step by step:
Closed loop brewing

Carbon Capture
We were among the first craft breweries in Scotland to invest in CO₂ recovery—capturing emissions produced during fermentation to drastically reduce reliance on combustion-sourced beverage gas.

Nitrogen Generation
We produce nitrogen on-site from the atmosphere to further reduce our CO₂ footprint. Science meets sustainability.
Smart energy use

Waste Heat Recovery
Our entire 3-story building is heated using the waste heat generated during the brewing process. It’s warm in here—for all the right reasons.

Solar Power (Coming Soon)
We’re installing Solar PV technology to harness clean, renewable energy right from the Dundee skies.
