Katie H Hughes has always been a wanderer, living everywhere from England to Orkney, but it was Glen Clova, at the foot of the Cairngorms, that she found her home and the inspiration for the music she makes now. A multi-instrumentalist and three-time finalist in the World Song-Writing Awards folk category, she works in the space between close acoustic storytelling and something considerably bigger, folding modern classical lines into alternative folk-rock and building the whole thing up on stage with piano, viola, vocals and live looping. She records, mixes and masters everything herself at home, which is a large part of the soundscape…
